About Us
Founded in the Meiji era, Nagamine Tea Co., Ltd. is a trusted tea wholesaler based in Shizuoka — Japan’s leading tea hub where quality teas from across the country are gathered and refined. Our award-winning tea master, recognized three times with the Highest Gold Prize, carefully finishes each batch at our in-house factory.
Founded in the Meiji era, started mail order sales in the early Showa era
Nagamine Tea's head office and manufacturing factory is located in Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, which is famous as a town of fish. Founded in the early Meiji period, the company shipped export tea, called "basket fire," to a trading post in Yokohama. We have been engaged in mail order sales since the early Showa period, and have a history of over 70 years, in order to deliver delicious tea directly from the production areas.

Freshness is the key to tea. All the tea we sell is made in our own factories in small batches, so it is always delivered fresh.
High quality recognized by tea professionals
All teas are carefully selected and finished by a tea master who has won the highest gold award three times at the same rough tea finishing competition*. *This is a competition where tea masters from within Shizuoka Prefecture compete against each other in tea finishing techniques.
Received the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award
At the Shizuoka Tea Competition, the tea received the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award in the Crane Seal category for premium tea in 2010, and has continued to win awards for nine consecutive years since then. Nagamine Tea continues to maintain top-class quality in Shizuoka Prefecture, which boasts the best tea processing technology in Japan.
Physical store and web shop
In 1974, we opened our first direct sales store in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, and now have a total of eight stores in Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Shizuoka. Our web store is celebrating its 27th anniversary.
